NYC Local News: NYPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Suspect in East Village Assault
NYPD Releases Video of Attack Suspect

According to police, the assault occurred on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at approximately 9:27 p.m. A 74-year-old man was walking to his hotel when an unidentified individual bumped into him in front of 86 4th Avenue.
What started as a seemingly small encounter quickly escalated. A verbal dispute broke out, and the individual allegedly punched the older man in the face before fleeing on foot.
Police report that the suspect ran southbound on 4th Avenue.
Despite being injured, the victim was able to walk to a nearby urgent care facility. He was treated for a head injury and was later listed in stable condition. He is expected to recover, but the NYPD is determined to identify the person responsible.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. He is described as a light skin male who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, green vest, sweatpants and grey sneakers.
