MANHATTAN - An elderly man  walking through Chelsea was pushed to the ground by an unknown suspect during a random attack, cops said.

At around 2 pm on July 26, an 88-year-old man was walking in front of 248 10th Avenue in Chelsea. Cops said a man walked up behind the elderly man and without saying a word grabbed the octogenarian and pushed him to the ground. The attacker did not remove any items off the victim nor did he say anything. It is unclear a motive for the random attack, cops said.

The suspect fled on foot heading northbound on 10th Avenue.

Cops said the victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect taken from underneath a sidewalk shed near the attack. The attacker is described as a male with a dark complexion who is around six feet tall. He has an athletic build and a beard. The suspect was last seen wearing a light colored shirt with two buttons near the collar. He was also seen wearing a pair of dark colored shorts, and light colored sneakers.
