Moped Riding Mugger Sought in 4 Attacks

NEW YORK - Cops are searching for a moped-riding mugger who attacked three people throughout the Upper East Side of Manhattan and at least one person in the Bronx. 



The NYPD released surveillance video of a man wanted in four separate attacks that occurred on the same day on the Upper East Side- as well as one case in the Bronx days later. Cops said the suspect’s MO is he rides up behind his victim on the moped riding on the sidewalk. He punches the victim in the head and tries to steal their headphones off their head. 


The first case was around 5:30 pm on July 3. The suspect rode up behind a 20-year-old man in front of 440 East 79th Street. The moped rider reached over and punched the victim in the head and tried to yank the headphones off the man’s head. He failed to do so.  


Two hours later the same suspect struck on East 80th Street. The crook rode up to a 24-year-old woman, punched her in the head and tried to take her headphones but was unable. He rode off empty handed.


Thirty minutes later cops said the same suspect tried again. A 25-year-old woman was in front of 444 East 82 Street when she was attacked. The mugger pulled up behind her and simply snatched the headphones off her head without hitting her. 


BRONX MAN STRANGLES ROOMMATE TO DEATH - COPS SAY



Investigators said the same man struck again days later in the Bronx. At around 6 am on July 7, a 42-year-old woman was in the vicinity of Wallace Avenue and Pelham Parkway. The mugger rode up on her on the sidewalk. He snatched the headphones off her head and kept on driving.

Female Shoplifters Beat Worker on Lower East Side

Police are searching for two women in connection with a shoplifting and an assault on a store worker. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice July 17, 2023 MANHATTAN - Two female shoplifters who tried to leave a Lower East Side variety store without paying beat a clerk and did damage to the store, cops said. Police released surveillance video of the suspects being sought. The footage was taken from inside an elevator inside the LaGuardia NYCHA Development after the assault. At around 9:20 am on June 13, two woman walked into a variety store on the corner of Clinton Avenue on the Lower East Side.
