NEW YORK - From Katz’s Deli to Radio City Music Hall, a pair of scooter riding crooks are being sought in 10 robberies throughout Manhattan and Queens in which women had their necklaces and in some cases their earrings ripped from them, cops said.
From Soho to Hells Kitchen to Midtown, cops said the same crew struck nine times throughout Manhattan over a two-week period.
The first robbery occurred at around 1:45 am on August 5 in Soho. A 27-year-old woman was walking opposite 75 Thompson Street when the pair on the moped rode up behind her. Cops said one of the crooks ripped the woman’s chain off her neck and took off with an earring out of her right ear.
The moped riding muggers MO remains the same in each case. They ride up behind a woman during the late evening or early morning hours, rip the chain from the victim’s neck and ride off. Cops said the same crew has robbed women near Katz’s Deli, Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Mall.
