‘Pumpkin’ Robs Check Cashing Store in Gramercy

NEW YORK - Police are searching for a suspect dressed in a pumpkin-colored hoodie who allegedly robbed a Gramercy check cashing store.



At around 7:30 am September 9, a man dressed in a bright orange hoodie walked into a check cashing store on East 29th Street.


Cops said the man walked up to the counter and handed the 30-year-old female employee a note demanding cash and simulated having a weapon.


The clerk was unable to gain access to the cash and the robber left empty handed.



The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and heavy build. He was last seen wearing a bright orange hoodie, black pants and white sneakers.
