MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for a trio of foodie gunmen who stuck up a pizza shop and a group of markets and delis throughout Manhattan and the Bronx, the NYPD announced.
Investigators believe the same crew struck at least six times throughout upper Manhattan and the Bronx. In each case the business is a local shop or market that sells food.
The first stickup was Noel’s Pizza on West 207th Street on March 25. At around 11:30 pm, three men walked into the pizza shop and pulled guns on the workers. They demanded money and had the worker hand over an unknown amount of cash from the register, cops said. The crew then ran to a waiting black Honda Pilot.
The next day the crew struck Fresh Suprette on West 181st Street. At around 10:45 pm on March 26, the crew walked into the local market waving guns. One of the robbers tried to remove cash from the register but was unable to. The crooks than ran out empty handed to a waiting blue Toyota Prius.
Ten minutes later the crew struck again at a local produce market on Broadway. Cops said the crew walked into Pelaez Produce with guns drawn. The robbers forcibly removed $2,000 cash from the register.
The very next day the same crew struck three locations in the Bronx within an hour. At around 3:30 am, the crew ran into the Morris Deli on Morris Park Avenue. One of the robbers pulled a gun on the worker and removed $160 from the register.
Ten minutes later the crew struck at a gas station on Bronxdale Avenue. One of the crew pulled a gun on workers while another crew member hopped over the counter. He grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the register and ran out, cops said.
Twenty minutes later the gunmen entered the market to a gas station on 233rd Street. With guns drawn, the crew removed $1,000 cash from the register and ran out.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects.
