Females Target Elderly Victims for Abuse in Midtown

MANHATTAN - Elderly women in Midtown were targeted in two separate attacks by younger women, cops said. One woman had her walker knocked out from under her. 



At around 2:15 pm on April 13, a 71-year-old woman was walking with a walker in the vicinity of East 59 Street and Third Avenue. Cops said a woman walked up behind the senior and pulled the walker out from under the elderly woman. 



The victim fell to the sidewalk as the attacker just kept walking, cops said. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. 



The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect who is described as a woman who is 50 years old. She was last seen wearing a black coat, black hat and glasses. 


In a separate case, an 81-year-old woman was targeted by a mugger. At around 7 am on April 15, the elderly woman was walking in front of Schmackary's Cookies on West 45th Street. Cops said a woman walked up to the senior and grabbed her arm demanding money. Cops said the victim did not comply and the would-be robber ran off empty handed. 





The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect who is described as a woman with a dark complexion. She was last seen wearing black jeans and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. She was also seen wearing a multi-colored bandana and slippers while pulling a shopping cart.
