MANHATTAN - A straphanger is recovering from a blitz attack by another subway rider on the Number 6 line, cops said. The victim was shoved into a wall and repeatedly punched in the face.
At around 8:15 am on April 19, a 58-year-old woman was waiting on the southbound platform of the Number 6 train at the 28th Street station.
Cops said a woman walked up behind the straphanger and shoved her into a wall. The attacker then began to repeatedly punch the victim in the face.
The attacker then took off on foot and fled the station.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Investigators do not have a motive for the vicious attack and it appears the assault was a random attack.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. She is described as a woman with a medium complexion who has shoulder length curly hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black bag.
