MANHATTAN - A SoHo woman was raped and choked when an attacker followed her into the building, cops said. The NYPD has released surveillance video of the suspect in an attempt to catch the creep.
At around 4 am on April 21, a 23-year-old woman was returning to her apartment building in the vicinity of Thompson Street and Prince Street. Cops said a man dressed in a black hoodie with a red graphic on the back, followed her into the building.
Once inside the building, the attacker grabbed the woman and placed her in a chokehold. He then proceeded to rape her, cops said.
The attacker then fled on foot and was last seen heading southbound on Thompson Street.
EMS rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspected rapist. He is described as a male with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with red lettering that forms a heart shape, gray pants with stripes, and orange sneakers.
