NEW YORK, NY — Police are searching for a suspect accused of violently shoving a 65-year-old woman to the ground in an unprovoked attack on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
According to the New York City Police Department, the incident happened on East 86th Street near the former Target location at 150 East 86th Street. Authorities say the woman was walking along the sidewalk when the suspect suddenly approached from behind and pushed her to the ground.
Investigators say the assault occurred without warning, leaving the victim seriously injured in what police are calling a violent attack on a 65-year-old woman on East 86th Street in Manhattan.
Police said the suspect ran up behind the woman and violently shoved her before calmly walking away from the scene in what authorities describe as an unprovoked Upper East Side assault on a 65-year-old woman.
The victim suffered a fractured wrist during the fall. Emergency responders transported her to Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries following the Manhattan sidewalk assault that left a 65-year-old woman injured near East 86th Street.
Officials have not released the victim’s identity, but authorities say she is expected to recover.
As the investigation continues, the New York City Police Department has released new photos of the suspect in hopes that someone will recognize him in connection with the suspect wanted for shoving a 65-year-old woman on East 86th Street in Manhattan.
Police describe the suspect as a male with a dark complexion and a disheveled appearance.
At the time of the assault, he was last seen wearing a multicolored jacket, a black hat and dark-colored pants.
