NEW YORK, NY - Cops are looking for a Subway Psycho who pushed two straphangers off the plaform and onto the tracks in one attack. The attack has unnerved many riders given the fact that the crime scene is a heavily trafficed station on the Upper East Side.

According to the NYPD, the disturbing incident happened at the Lexington Avenue–63rd Street Station on the Upper East Side around 11:30 a.m. on March 8, 2026.

Police say the attacks appeared to be completely unprovoked.

Investigators say a 30-year-old man was standing on the southbound platform serving the F and Q trains when the suspect approached him from behind.

Without warning, the man shoved the victim onto the subway tracks, according to police.

Moments later, the suspect allegedly targeted another commuter.

An 83-year-old man was also approached from behind and pushed onto the track bed, police said.

Both victims fell onto the tracks before witnesses on the platform rushed to help.

Fortunately, neither victim was struck by an oncoming train. Bystanders were able to help both men climb back onto the platform before emergency responders arrived.

EMS transported the victims to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the 30-year-old victim was listed in stable condition. The 83-year-old victim was hospitalized in critical condition.

Officials have not released additional details about the victims or whether they knew the suspect.

After pushing both riders onto the tracks, the suspect fled the subway station on foot, police said.

Investigators say he has not been seen since the incident.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the man wanted for questioning in connection with the subway assault.

Police describe the suspect as a male with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, red sweatshirt and light-colored pants

Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the man to come forward
