NEW YORK, NY - Hulking attacker beats elderly man in Midtown random attack, cops say.

According to investigators, the incident took place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at approximately 6:05 pm, in a busy commercial corridor near West 47th Street and 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.

A 68-year-old man was walking along the street when he was suddenly approached by an unidentified individual. What started as a verbal confrontation quickly escalated.

The suspect allegedly began yelling at the victim for no apparent reason. The hulking brute then pushed the elderly man to the ground and punched him in the face.

After the assault, the individual fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on 5th Avenue, leaving the victim shaken but conscious.

Despite the violent nature of the encounter, the victim sustained minor injuries. Notably, he refused medical attention at the scene, according to police.

Police have released a basic description of the individual they are trying to identify. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hat, gray tank top, black jeans and black shoes.
