NEW YORK, NY - MetroPlusHealth just launched its Invisible Thread campaign, inspired by a New York City Department of Health report showing that 72% of New Yorkers believe their neighbors are willing to help one another.
This statistic reveals a powerful insight that informs the campaign: despite New Yorkers’ diverse experiences, opinions, and backgrounds, there is a common thread that connects us all: the willingness to care for one another.MetroPlusHealth strengthens that thread by expanding access to affordable, high-quality health care for New Yorkers, by New Yorkers.
To bring this shared spirit of care to life, MetroPlusHealth partnered with Brooklyn-based, women-owned business Nose Best to create a custom City Glow candle—a physical representation of the Invisible Thread featured throughout the campaign’s social content.
“Community is how we show up for one another every day,” said Laura Santella-Saccone, Chief Marketing Officer, MetroPlusHealth. “That spirit inspired us. Turning that energy into something tangible—like a candle that brings light and warmth—felt like the perfect expression of the neighborly care that defines our city. It’s been incredibly meaningful to help bring that feeling to life.”
The campaign will be amplified through collaborations with NYC-based content creators who collectively speak five languages—Spanish, English, Cantonese, Bengali, and Russian—reflecting the diverse communities MetroPlusHealth serves. MetroPlusHealth provides services in more than 40 languages.
The campaign complements MetroPlusHealth’s broader Spring brand campaign, which will appear across posters and digital signage in subways, bus shelters, laundromats, beauty salons, barber shops, and more throughout all five boroughs.
MetroPlusHealth is a proud champion of health care in New York City and the communities that make it a vibrant place. The Invisible Thread campaign celebrates the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting and uplifting New Yorkers.
Past MetroPlusHealth social media campaigns have been recognized by Ad Age and the Shorty Awards for their innovation and results.
