Stuy Town Stickup? 2 Wanted in Attempted Robberies

NEW YORK, NY — The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying two young male suspects wanted in connection with a robbery pattern reported within the 7th and 13th Precincts in Lower Manhattan on the night of May 28, 2026.
According to police, the incidents occurred less than an hour apart in Lower Manhattan and involved two victims of different ages. Investigators believe the same pair of suspects may be responsible for both crimes in what authorities are investigating as a Lower Manhattan robbery pattern investigation.
The first incident took place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 11:18 p.m. in front of 624 East 20th Street in the area covered by the 13th Precinct.
Police said a 30-year-old man was approached by two unidentified males who allegedly demanded his property. During the encounter, one of the suspects reportedly displayed a black firearm from his waistband.
Authorities said the victim was able to escape by running into a nearby building. The suspects then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
The incident is being investigated as an attempted armed robbery on East 20th Street in Manhattan, raising concerns about late-night robbery incidents in Manhattan neighborhoods.
Less than 40 minutes later, at approximately 11:54 p.m., a second robbery was reported within the confines of the 7th Precinct.
According to investigators, a 56-year-old man was walking his dog near the intersection of Grand Street and Columbia Street when he noticed two males following him.
Police said one of the suspects forcibly grabbed the victim's cellphone from his hand before both individuals fled on foot. The stolen cellphone was valued at approximately $800.
The victim was not injured during the robbery.
The two individuals sought in connection with the robbery pattern are described as males with dark complexions who are approximately 17 to 18 years old.
Investigators are reviewing available evidence and seeking assistance from the public to help identify the suspects involved in the Lower Manhattan robbery pattern case.
