Police Hunt Five Suspects After Brutal Assault on 60-Year-Old Man in Midtown Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY — A 60-year-old man was seriously injured after stepping in to break up a fight in Midtown Manhattan last Friday morning, according to police.
Authorities said the incident happened at approximately 5:55 a.m. on July 17, 2026, near the intersection of West 46th Street and Seventh Avenue.
Police say the victim witnessed a physical altercation involving several people and attempted to intervene. Instead of stopping the violence, he became the target of the group.
Investigators said five unidentified individuals repeatedly punched and kicked the man throughout his body during the assault. The attack left the victim with two broken eye sockets.
After the beating, the suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction before officers arrived.
No arrests have been made, and police have not released descriptions of the five suspects.
