MANHATTAN - A teen was lured to a spot near the Port Authority bus terminal where he was beaten with a bottle and robbed in broad daylight by a group of five men and one woman, cops say.
At around 3:45 pm on April 16, a 17-year-old male went to meet a person in the vicinity of 41st Street and 9th Avenue, near the Port Authority. Cops say the teen was lured there by a person. When he arrived he was greeted by six people - five men and one woman.
The victim tried to flee but was quickly caught by the group. Cops said they punched and kicked him repeatedly. One of the attackers hit the teen upside the head with a glass bottle. The attackers then ripped the gold chain from the victim’s neck.
Somehow the teen broke free and ran from his attackers. The muggers threw the victim’s backpack at him, smashing the iPad inside.
The attackers were last seen fleeing eastbound on 41st Street toward 9th Avenue.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for a laceration to the head.
Police released surveillance video of the suspects who were seen dressed in dark clothing and hoodies.
