MANHATTAN - Cops just arrested the suspected gunman accused of shooting up a Stuy Town subway station after getting in to dispute with another man. It is unclear if the gunman, his intended target and another woman were all together before the dispute turned violent.

Police today announced the arrest of Aaron Vasquez, 21, of Brooklyn. Cops said he is the suspected gunman who opened fire inside the 1st Avenue subway station on July 10. Vasquez was charged with attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

According to police, the incident began as a dispute at around 2 am on July 10 on the platform for the L Train at the 1st Avenue station at Stuyvesant Town. Cops said the two men started arguing and then began physically fighting on the platform.

During the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire inside the underground station.

No one was injured in the shooting.

All three suspects fled the station in an unknown direction.

Cops said the female had accompanied one of the suspects into the train station. She is described as having a light complexion, medium build with brown and wearing eyeglasses. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a graphic on the front, black shorts and red sneakers.
