Robber Armed with Box Cutter Strikes in Front of Museum of Natural History

NEW YORK - Cops are searching for a man who used a box cutter to rob a woman in front of the American Museum of Natural History.


At around 5:30 am on Saturday, a 28-year-old woman was standing in front of Central Part West and West 81 Street. A person in a hoodie walked up to the woman and displayed a box cutter cops said.



The robber forcibly removed the cell phone out of the woman’s hand and then fled, cops said.


The robber then fled into Central Park. The victim was not injured.



The suspect is a described as having a dark complexion. Police released surveillance video of the suspect entering a turnstile at a nearby subway station.



The suspect was last seen wearing a bright yellow hoodie, green shorts and red sneakers. The suspect also had a small backpack across the chest.
