NEW YORK - An elderly man was sucker punched in an unprovoked attack near Union Square, cops said. The attacker took off on a moped. 



At around 1:45 pm on September 27, a 72-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of 14th Street and Union Square. Cops said an unknown man walked up to him, punched him and then pushed. The senior fell backward into a large cement flowerpot. 


The attacker hopped on a black electric moped and rode off.

NEW YORK - Police arrested a Manhattan man for the hate crime assault on a Queens bus. Cops said the rider was assaulted simply for wearing a turban.

The victim was taken by EMS to NYC Health & Hospitals/Bellevue. The victim sustained internal injuries and had complained of pains. He was listed in stable condition. 


The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and a heavy build. He was last seen riding a dark electric moped with the word “Italica” on the side of the seat and the letters “RX” on the side of the EV. 



The suspect was last seen wearing a tan jacket with orange trim on the wrists, waist and collar. He wore an orange knit cap and eyeglasses. He also wore tan pants and black boots.

Police released the photos of the 5 suspects who are accused of stealing at least 1 SUV.   Investigators said the same crew ran a two-day, two-borough crime spree to steal everything from edibles and headphones, to a car.  According to cops, the robberies started at around 2 am on May 21 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Female Shoplifters Beat Worker on Lower East Side

Police are searching for two women in connection with a shoplifting and an assault on a store worker. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice July 17, 2023 MANHATTAN - Two female shoplifters who tried to leave a Lower East Side variety store without paying beat a clerk and did damage to the store, cops said. Police released surveillance video of the suspects being sought. The footage was taken from inside an elevator inside the LaGuardia NYCHA Development after the assault. At around 9:20 am on June 13, two woman walked into a variety store on the corner of Clinton Avenue on the Lower East Side. Cops said the women took merchandise and then tried to leave the store without paying. That is when a 32-year-old female worker tried to stop one of the shoplifters from leaving.
