‘Pom Pom’ Gunman Opens Fire Outside Park

NEW YORK - Police are looking for a man whose hair was in red pom poms who is suspected of opening fire outside a park.  Cops are hoping an alleged gunman’s unique hair doo will lead to the suspect’s arrest. 



Police released surveillance video of the suspect who sported a unique look. The suspect has a thick black beard and wore his hair up in two pom poms that were red and black bun in the back. 


At around 8:30 pm on August 16, a man approached a group of people standing in front of 2296 Amsterdam Avenue- directly across the street from Highbridge Park. Cops said the man with the red pom pom hair pulled out a gun and opened fire. 


The gunman was seen fleeing on foot northbound on Amsterdam Avenue. 


Cops said no injuries were reported. 



The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion and slim build. He is 5 foot 7 with black hair and a black beard. He was last seen wearing red pants and a black shirt.
