Cops Charge Man with Fatally Stabbing Roommate

MANHATTAN - A 70-year-old man was charged in the fatal stabbing of his 71-year-old roommate inside their Hell’s Kitchen apartment, the NYPD said. 


Michael Pinder, 70, has been charged with attempted manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of his roommate, 71-year-old Joseph Pescitelli. 


At around 11 pm on November 28, cops were called to an apartment at 475 West 57th Street. There police observed a Pescitelli with a stab wound to the back. 


Further investigation revealed that the other person in the apartment, Pinder, had slash wounds on both hands. Police took him into custody.


Both men were taken to Mount Sinai Morningside. The 71-year-old victim was pronounced dead. The Pinder is in stable condition.
