MANHATTAN - A second 15-year-old has been arrested for a series of robberies in which young victims were robbed at knifepoint, the NYPD said.
Cops announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male this morning in connection with the two armed robberies. This suspect is believed to be the one who held the knife in the robberies.
The suspect has been charged with robbery. Police are not releasing his name due to the fact that he is a minor. Another 15-year-old was arrested during the last robbery.
The latest arrest comes just 24 hours after police released the suspect’s photo in an attempt to solicit tips.
At around 1 pm on December 1, a 15-year-old male was walking on 138th Street and Amsterdam Avenue outside The City College of New York. Cops said two young men ran up to him and one displayed a knife. The pair forcibly removed the teen’s property before running off.
Cops said the same crew struck again at around 6:30 pm on December 9. A 15-year-old male was walking in front of 3505 Broadway when the pair ran up to him. One of the crew pulled a knife while the other forcibly removed the jacket off the victim.
The two ran off but caught the attention of police officers who ran after them. The officers were able to capture one of the robbery suspects. Since the suspect is a 15-year-old cops could not release his name.
