NEW YORK - Donald Trump’s defamation trial heads to the jury after an explosive morning in which the former president stormed out of the courtroom during closing arguments.
The jury has begun deliberations in the defamation case brought by E. Jean Carroll, who claimed Trump defamed her again following the last year’s judgement against him.
Carroll’s lawyers upped their demand for damages to $24 Million during closing arguments. At which time, Trump stormed out of the courtroom.
Carroll had originally asked for $10 million.
Legal experts on various channels believe Trump will appeal a verdict against him on the grounds that he was limited in his defense. Yesterday Trump testified for just 3 minutes in his defense. The judge had limited his responses and questions posed, published reports claim.
Last year Trump was found guilty by a Manhattan jury of sexual abuse and defamation of Carroll.
