MANHATTAN - A Chinatown resident was attacked and called a “terrorist” during an unprovoked attack, the NYPD said. The case is being investigated as a possible hate crime.
At around 9 am on November 7, a 39-year-old man was standing in front of a parking garage at 62 Mulberry Street. Cops said an unknown man walked up to the victim and called him a “terrorist.” The man then sprayed the victim in the face with an unknown substance, cops said.
The attacker fled on foot southbound on Bayard Street.
The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

The suspect is described as a man with a light complexion. He is between the ages of 25 and 35 and weighs between 140 to 160 pounds. Cops said the suspect has a pentagram tattoo on his left hand. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a red hat.
