MANHATTAN - A man is recovering after a vicious random attack in lower Manhattan left him with a broken nose and a fractured eye socket, the NYPD announced.
At around 7:30 pm on March a 41-year-old man was walking in lower Manhattan when he was approached by a disheveled man with a long beard. Without warning, the bearded man began punching the victim in the face over and over again, cops said.
The attacker then ran away in an unknown direction.
The victim was rushed by EMS to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital.
Cops said the victim suffered a broken nose and a fractured eye socket in the attack.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and a medium build and a large scraggy beard. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with the white “Under Armor” logo. He also wore grey sandals with black socks.
