MANHATTAN - A subway rider was punched and pistol whipped during a robbery inside the Bowling Green Station, the NYPD announced. Cops made one arrest and are searching for a second robber.
At around 11 pm on March 23, a 22-year-old man was standing on the platform at the Bowling Green station waiting for a northbound Number 4 train. Two men walked up to the straphanger and attacked.
Cops said the first robber punched the victim in the face and removed the man’s iPhone. The second suspect took out a gun and pistol whipped the victim in the face.

The two attackers then ran out of the station.
The victim suffered a laceration to the right eye.
An investigation led cops to arrest 19-year-old Ivan Maldonado of Madison Avenue. They believe he is the man who pistol whipped the victim.
Cops are still searching for the other robber.
