MANHATTAN - A man was stabbed in the chest and slashed in the arm by a deranged man during an unprovoked attack in broad daylight, the NYPD announced.
At around 2:30 pm on March 26, a 26-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of Eldridge Street and Broome Street. Cops said a man ran up to him and began arguing.
The dispute turned physical as the two men began struggling. Then the man in the cap pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest and slashed him on the arm.
The attacker fled east on Broome Street.
The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital and was listed in stable condition.
It is unclear the motive for the vicious attack. Cops did not say that this is a robbery gone bad. Police are investigating.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, tan pants, black sneakers and had a white bag attached to his thigh.
