MANHATTAN - A man buying a MetroCard was slashed across the face in an unprovoked attack at the Rockefeller Center subway station, cops said.

At around 12:30 pm on April 15, a 24-year-old man was buying a MetroCard from the machine at the mezzanine of the Rockefeller Center subway station. Cops said a man ran up behind and slashed him across the face with a sharp object - possibly a knife or box cutter. The victim suffered a “severe laceration.”

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The attacker ran off in an unknown direction. However, not before surveillance cameras in the station recorded an image of the suspect.
