MANHATTAN - Don’t bring a simulated gun to a knife fight. A group of would-be robbers left a bodega empty-handed after their “simulated” gun was met at the counter by an employee with a knife, surveillance video shows.
The NYPD released dramatic surveillance video from inside a bodega in the Heights. On the video, four men dressed in dark clothing walked into the bodega at 4380 Broadway at around 6 pm on April 20.

The video shows the main suspect pull out an object in his hand that was wrapped in a plastic bag. The robber claimed it was a gun and demanded money.
The video further goes on to show a 53-year-old employee walk up to the counter with a very large knife. The worker’s body and face are blurred out but the knife is seen being held up in defense of the worker and waved before he runs off camera.
Surprised, the would-be robbers then run out of the store empty-handed.
