Follow @xMANHATTAN - Cops are looking for a man caught on video carrying a bag of clothes and a mini suitcase who, they say, punched an elderly woman in the eye for no reason on the Upper West Side.
At around 2 pm on September 13, a 77-year-old woman was standing in front of a building at 27 West 72nd Street. Cops said a young man walked up to her and, without saying a word, punched the elderly woman in the left eye.
The attacker then ran off westbound on 72nd Street towards Columbus Avenue.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, medium build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, tan pants, and white sneakers.
The suspect was seen on the camera holding a clear plastic of clothes and pulling a small, wheeled suitcase behind him.
This is the second attack on a senior on the Upper West Side on the same day. Cops said the cases are unrelated and two different attackers.
At around 7 pm on Sept 13, an 81-year-old woman was walking her dog on W. 66th St. and Amsterdam Avenue. A burly white man was caught on the building’s surveillance video, walking up behind the elderly woman and then slugging her in the eye. The woman was knocked unconscious.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
