NEW YORK - A man dressed more like a spiritual guru than a sex fiend, is wanted by cops in connection with a rape inside a car in Kips Bay.


The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect seen sporting a long bushy beard, dreadlocks that hung over his shoulder and chest like a pony tail and baggy clothes. Cops said they are searching for the man who dressed like a Middle Eastern mystic in connection with a sexual assault. 


During the early morning hours of October 27, cops said a 30-year-old woman met the suspect for the first time in a bar in Kips Bay. The pair left together some time near 4 am. 


A short time later while in the suspect’s car, the woman lost consciousness. Cops said the suspect raped the woman inside the car in the vicinity of East 29th Street and 2nd Avenue. The victim was pushed out of the white Chevy Malibu and the suspect drove off. 


The victim was treated at a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.  


The NYPD's Manhattan Special Victims Squad is investigating.
