Farmer’s Markets Become Fall Foodie Destinations In NY

NEW YORK - Want to visit a farmstand or pick your own? Take a flavorful fall foliage drive with the whole family. Here are some great destinations, and be sure to check ahead for hours and availability: 





Wilken’s Farm, 1313 Whitehall Road, Yorktown Heights. 


Marking their 106th year, visit the farmers market or pick your own apples, peaches, pumpkins, even Christmas Trees. Open Wednesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through mid-Dec. 914-245-5111 


We recently had a fruitful time at Wilken’s Fruit & Fur Farm. We went to pick our own. The peach and nectarine trees were loaded with fruit. Apples were available, too. Our final haul needed a bit more home ripening, but turned out sweet and delicious! www.wilkensfarm.com

Stuart’s Fruit Farm, 62 Granite Springs Road, Granite Springs. This farm has been operating since 1828, strewn with old tractors and rural artifacts, you can pick your own fruit and produce or visit the farmers market for fresh cider donuts and pies. BRONX NIGHT MARKET FINAL: 

OCT. 25TH!


The popular Bronx Night Market has been running on the first Saturday of each month starting at 4 p.m. There are scores of Bronx-based vendors and food trucks including Crabmeat Mike, Empanada Papa, Fried Lasagna Mama, Hungarian Hotspot, Mixto Tacos, and Island Love Cake all selling food, drink, crafts, and live entertainment. The final Market will take place on October 25th. It all takes place at: Fordham Plaza, East Fordham Road and Webster Ave. Belmont, The Bronx.

Go for a stroll through the lovely New York Botanical Garden. The beautiful Van Gogh presentation is ongoing through the Fall.
