‘You Are Jewish’ - Attacker Says

NEW YORK - A woman was punched in the face on a Midtown subway train because, according to her attacker, she is Jewish, cops said. 



At around 11:30 pm on October 14, a 29-year-old woman was sitting on a Number 7 Train near the 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue Subway Station. Without notice a man walked over to her and punched her in the face. 


Cops said the woman asked her attacker why he punched her and he told her, “You are Jewish.”

NEW YORK - Police released new surveillance video of two men wanted in connection with the beating of a straphanger and then pushing him onto the subway tracks.

Police released cell phone video of the alleged attacker who is seen raising his hands up before the camera after allegedly attacking the woman. 


The woman was treated for minor injuries.  



The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, medium build and  a mustache and beard. He was last seen wearing a dark green cap, green shirt with a blue insulated vest and grey pants. He also had a light blue backpack.


The attack is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit.
