MANHATTAN - Residents fear being assaulted with fists and baseball bats from random attackers as they walk down the street have a new thing to fear: hockey sticks. Cops said an attacker randomly hacked at a woman’s legs with a hockey stick as she walked in the East Village.
At around 10:30 pm on April 9, a 26-year-old woman was walking in front of 433 East 6 Street. Cops said a man carrying a hockey stick walked up to him, and without warning struck her in the leg. The attacker then ran off eastbound on East 6th Street.
The woman was treated by EMS at the scene.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect seen walking with a blue hockey stick.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion , thin build and short cropped hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather bomber jacket with grey patches on the sleeves and the chest. He also wore a light hoodie underneath. He wore beige or brown pants and white sneakers.
