MANHATTAN - A teenager was beaten and robbed when he refused to pay a toll to two men to enter a subway station in Greenwich Village.


At around 11 am on April 6, a 17-year-old male was trying to enter the turnstiles to reach the subway platform in the Greenwich Village subway station.


Cops said two men were near the entrance and demanded money to enter the station. When the teen refused the men pounced.




The men began punching the teen in the head and began removing his property. Cops said the muggers took the teen’s skateboard and necklace before running away.


The victim was taken to Lenox Health Greenwich Village Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.


The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects hanging around the entrance.


The first suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, curly hair and a medium build. He is 5 foot 8 tall. He was last seen wearing a blue winter jacket, beige turtleneck, black pants, and blue sneakers.


The second suspect is described as a male who is 5 foot 6, with a dark complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a black and red sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, and dark colored du-rag.
