MANHATTAN - A Harlem deli clerk is recovering after being attacked and threatened with a gun during an attempted robbery.
At around 1:30 am on December 28, a man walked into a deli at 285 Saint Nicholas Avenue. Cops said he walked up to a 62-year-old store employee and punched him in the face and then displayed a handgun. Cops said the attacker demanded cash but was unsuccessful.
The attacker then fled empty handed northbound on St. Nicholas Avenue.
Cops said the victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras. He is described as a male who is 180 pounds with a medium build and medium complexion. He has braids in his hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, a black sweatshirt, and black shoes.
