MANHATTAN - Low-profile was not this bank robber’s MO. Cops are looking for a suspect who wore an oversized track suit and a large yellow knit cap to rob a Lower East Side bank and then ditched the disguised in the getaway.
At around 3:30 pm on January 30, the suspect walked into the Wells Fargo Bank on Clinton Street. Cops said the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding cash.
The bank employee handed the masked man $5,000 in cash and he fled the bank.
Cops released before and after surveillance videos. In the first set of photos the suspect was seen walking into the bank with his oversized track suit, knit cap and an empty white plastic bag.
In the next video the suspect is seen walking away from the scene without the jacket to the track suit and without the knit cap. Instead the suspect is seen wearing a white t-shirt, sunglasses and gloves and holding a full plastic bag.
Cops said the suspect is a male with a medium complexion with a tattoo on his left cheek. He is 5 foot 10 and 160 pounds and has a bald head. He was last seen wearing a yellow knit hat, a blue and white track suit jacket, blue and white tracksuit pants, black sneakers, and a white facemask.
