Arrest in Attack on Elderly Woman on Upper West Side The NYPD has announced the arrest of a suspect in the assault on a 77-year-old woman on the Upper West Side. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice September 24, 2024 Follow @x MANHATTAN - Cops say they arrested the “bagman” who slugged a 77-year-old woman in the face during a random attack on the Upper West Side. Police arrested 37-year-old Anthony Melendez on September 19. The Brooklyn resident was charged with second degree assault. At around 2 pm on September 13, a 77-year-old woman was standing in front of a building at 27 West 72nd Street. Cops said a young man walked up to her and, without saying a word, punched the elderly woman in the left eye.  The victim was treated at a local hospital and released. The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. The alleged attacker was seen on camera holding a clear plastic bag of clothes and pulling a small, wheeled suitcase behind him. No motive ...

The NYPD are looking for two men in separate attacks in which the victim was bumped on the street. In one case the victim was stabbed in the back. The first attack occurred Friday outside Stuy Town. At around 8:45 pm on September 20, a 29-year-old male was walking down the subway staircase at the 1st Avenue and 14th Street station.  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault in the Flatiron District. -Photo by NYPD Cops said the victim bumped into a man on the stairs. Homeless Man Gropes 74-Year-Old Woman in Her Home

The NYPD have identified 64-year-old Aldred Eaddy as the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in catching him. Cops released Eaddy’s previous mugshot and said he is homeless.  At around 8 pm on January 31, the 74-year-old woman was returning to her apartment in the vicinity of Broadway and West 142 Street in Hamilton Heights. Cops said the suspect followed the victim into her building and to her apartment door. He then pushed his way into the victim’s apartment and groped the elderly woman, cops said. Best Dressed Shoplifting Gang Struck Same North Face Store Twice The NYPD is searching for a number of suspects who robbed a Soho North Face store two days in a row. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 28, 2024 MANHATTAN - A flash mob struck a Soho North Face store twice and cops believe the crooks wore the evidence in the getaway.  The NYPD released subway surveillance video which showed a group of at least six individuals, both male and female, walking through the turnstiles with the brand new North Face jackets. Cops said these are the same people who struck the same Soho store two days in a row last month.  The first robbery took place at around 3 pm on January 8 at the North Face store at 584 Broadway. Cops said a group walked into the store, took coats off the racks and fled with the handsfull of merchandise.
