Screamed ‘Asian Pig’ as They Beat Couple

A woman was arrested during beating on the Times Square Shuttle. Police are searching for two people for a hate crime attack on the subway.

MANHATTAN - Police arrested a female member of a trio who beat a subway rider on the Times Square Shuttle while spewing anti-Asians remarks.  




The NYPD announced the arrest of 19-year-old Dream Commisso. She was charged with assault, hate crime, aggravated harassment, assault, menacing and harassment. Two other attackers are still at large. 




At around 8 pm on Saturday, November 19, a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both of Asian decent, were sitting in the subway shuttle from Grand Central to Times Square, when the trio approached them. The group demanded that the couple give up their seats to them. When they refused, the attackers began punching and kicking the male straphanger and allegedly screaming out “Asian Pig.” 




When the shuttle arrived at Times Square the attackers ran out of the train and out of the train station to the street above. They may have fled but not before riders on the train snapped photos of suspected attackers. 


 


The victim suffered a cut to the head but refused medical attention at the scene. 




No official word yet if the case is being investigated by the hate crimes task force.

Female Shoplifters Beat Worker on Lower East Side

Police are searching for two women in connection with a shoplifting and an assault on a store worker. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice July 17, 2023 MANHATTAN - Two female shoplifters who tried to leave a Lower East Side variety store without paying beat a clerk and did damage to the store, cops said. Police released surveillance video of the suspects being sought. The footage was taken from inside an elevator inside the LaGuardia NYCHA Development after the assault. At around 9:20 am on June 13, two woman walked into a variety store on the corner of Clinton Avenue on the Lower East Side.
