Subway Performer Hit in Head with Bottle at Herald Square The NYPD is searching for this woman in connection with an assault on a subway musician. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 14, 2024 MANHATTAN - A straphanger apparently did not like a subway performer’s music, when, cops say, she hit the musician upside the head with a metal bottle.  At around 5:45 pm on February 13, a 29-year-old musician was playing at the mezzanine of the 34th Street/ Herald Square Station. Cops said a woman walked up to the male playing music and struck him in the head with a metal bottle causing a deep cut.  The attacker fled the station.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. She is described as a female with a light complexion and slim build. She is believed to be 5 foot 3. She was last seen wearing a brown fur coat, black winter hat, burgundy scarf and a multicolored bag across her body. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call

Man Charged with Groping Teen at Grand Central Station The NYPD has made an arrest in the groping of a 16-year-old girl at Grand Central Station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 5, 2024 MANHATTAN - The NYPD announced the arrest of a suspect in the groping of a teenage girl inside Grand Central Station.   Cops arrested 41-year-old Johnny Rios of Amsterdam Avenue and charged him with forcible touching. Police charged Rios in the groping of a 16-year-old girl in the subway station on January 30.  At around 4 pm the teen was exiting the platform at 42nd Street-Grand Central Station. Cops said as she was climbing the staircase a male approached from behind and grabbed her “private area over her clothing.”  Cops said the victim screamed and the attacker fled.  Police released surveillance video of the suspect taken from inside the subway station. He was arrested a week later.

Police are searching for this man in connection with an assault and robbery on the West Side. By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice December 1, 2022 MANHATTAN - Another straphanger was attacked in the subway during an early morning ride on the West Side. The victim was sucker punched and knocked to the ground while his attacker rifled through his pockets.  At around 1 am on November 22, a 47-year-old man was waiting for the Number 1 train at the West 50th Street and Broadway station when a man approached him. Unprovoked he punched the straphanger in the head causing him to fall to the ground. While the victim lay sprawled out on the floor of the platform, the attacker riffled through his pockets looking for cash. After snatching the victim’s cellphone he ran off and out of the subway. The victim grabbed a cab and went to a local hospital to be treated for swelling and bruising to the head. Police released surveillance photos of the suspect entering by the turnst

Screamed ‘Asian Pig’ as They Beat Couple A woman was arrested during beating on the Times Square Shuttle.  Police are searching for two people for a hate crime attack on the subway. By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  November 30, 2022  MANHATTAN - Police arrested a female member of a trio who beat a subway rider on the Times Square Shuttle while spewing anti-Asians remarks.   The NYPD announced the arrest of 19-year-old Dream Commisso. She was charged with assault, hate crime, aggravated harassment, assault, menacing and harassment. Two other attackers are still at large.  At around 8 pm on Saturday, November 19, a 42-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, both of Asian decent, were sitting in the subway shuttle from Grand Central to Times Square, when the trio approached them. Subway Sicko Tried to Kidnap 10 Year Old

Police are searching for this man in connection with an attempted kidnapping of a child on a subway train. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice November 23, 2022 MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for a creep who tried to abduct a 10-year-old boy from his siblings riding the subway on their way to school. The man is suspected of stalking the family from the 149th Street station to 34th Street.  The NYPD is asking the public to view these photos of the suspect and call in tips to try to catch him.  At around 8:15 am on November 23, the siblings, a 16-year-old girl, 15-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy, were traveling on the southbound Number 2 train on their way to school when they were followed by a man who got on at the 149th Street Station.  When the train approached the 34th Street Station, the man tugged on the 10-year-old’s pants and grabbed his legs trying to take him off the seat. Perv Caught Playing with Himself on Subway

Police are searching for this man for allegedly exposing himself in front of riders. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice November 16, 2022   MANHATTAN - A female straphanger snapped a pic of a subway perv who was playing with himself on a train in Harlem.  At around 6 am on October 8, a 23-year-old woman was riding the southbound A train. As the train was pulling into the West 125 Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue station she looked up to see the man sitting across from her had exposed himself. The man proceeded to masturbate in full view of the other riders.  The woman took a photo of the suspected perv and gave it to police. Homeless Man Arrested for Attacking Subway Worker with a Pipe

‘Crazy Eyes’ Beat Female Worker with Metal Pipe for No Reason  Police say this man smacked an MTA cleaner upside the head with a metal pipe. By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice November 15, 2022  MANHATTAN - Cops say they caught the “crazy eyed” homeless man who beat a female train cleaner with a metal pipe in an apparent unprovoked attack.  Police arrested 28-year-old Jonathan Frias on Sunday at the World Trade Center station of the E Train. Cops were called when riders allegedly recognized Frias from a wild-eyed photo police released in connection with the attack.  Investigators said Frias has a previous arrest last year for punching a police officer.  At around 6:45 am on November 4, a 46-year-old woman who is employed as a subway cleaner subcontracted by the MTA worked at Chambers Street.
