MANHATTAN - A headphone thief targeting Times Square was caught red handed with an alleged pair of stolen headphones on surveillance video released by the NYPD. Cops believe the same man struck at least twice around Times Square.

The first case happened at around 8 pm on December 22. A 26-year-old male was walking in the vicinity of 1514 Broadway when a man in a hoodie came up from behind. The thief ripped the headphones off the man’s head and ran off on West 44th Street.

The next robbery took place exactly one month later. At around 8:30 pm on January 22, a 43-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 3 Times Square when a man walked up behind her. He ripped the headphones off her ears and ran off southbound on 8th Avenue.

No injuries were reported in either case.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect seen holding a pair of black and grey vintage style headphones. The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, medium build and light-colored hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black sneakers.
