Smoke Shop Robbery Leads to 1 Arrest

Teen Arrested in Greenwich Village Smoke Shop Robbery The NYPD has made an arrest in the trio of suspects wanted for robbing a Greenwich Village smoke shop. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice February 9, 2024  MANHATTAN - The NYPD has announced the arrest of a teen suspect in the robbery of a Greenwich Village smoke shop last month.  Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the January 19th robbery. The suspect, whose name is withheld because he is a minor, was charged with robbery and burglary. No word on the whereabouts of the other two suspects.  At around 11:50 am on January 19, three men dressed in dark colors and masks walked into the smoke shop at 333 Avenue of the Americas. Cops said the crew took items off the shelves and then threatened the store’s 21-year-old worker. No injuries were reported.  The crooks fled on foot in an unknown direction. 

Mac Thief Busted for Series of Robberies - NYPD Says

Robber Targeted Elderly Women Stole Purses, Macs  The NYPD announced an arrest in a series of robberies throughout Manahttan. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  February 8, 2024  MANHATTAN - A robber who swiped a pair of MacBooks, as well as purses containing thousands in cash, was busted for a series of thefts dating back to November, the NYPD said.  Police announced the arrest of 22-year-old Elijah Gay of Brooklyn. Gay was charged with robbery, grand larceny, criminal posession of stolen property, criminal possession of a weapon and fare evasion. Cops believe Gay is connected to at least five robberies throughout Manhattan.  The first case was on November 12 inside the Broadway Lafayette Subway Station. Cops said the thief approached a 43-year-old woman from behind and removed her MacBook valued at $1,200.  On January 4, a 74-year-old woman was in her car parked opposite the Frick on Madison Avenue. Thief Rips Headphones Off Residents’ Heads in Times Square

Headphone Thief Targets Times Square, Caught Red Handed The NYPD is searching for this man for a string of headphone robberies in Times Square. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice January 29, 2024 MANHATTAN - A headphone thief targeting Times Square was caught red handed with an alleged pair of stolen headphones on surveillance video released by the NYPD. Cops believe the same man struck at least twice around Times Square.  The first case happened at around 8 pm on December 22. A 26-year-old male was walking in the vicinity of 1514 Broadway when a man in a hoodie came up from behind. The thief ripped the headphones off the man’s head and ran off on West 44th Street.  The next robbery took place exactly one month later. At around 8:30 pm on January 22, a 43-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 3 Times Square when a man walked up behind her. He ripped the headphones off her ears and ran off southbound on 8th Avenue.   No injuries were reported in either ca

On November 16, police announced the arrest of Blake Martinez, 22, of 10th Avenue in Manhattan, who was charged with murder, robbery, assault and criminal posession of a weapon. The arrest comes a little more than three-weeks after police announced the arrests of two Bronx men, Luis Rodriguez, 28, of Valentine Avenue in Kingsbridge Heights and Jeremy Lopez, 21, of Waldo Avenue in Kingsbridge, who were both charged in the killing.
