Headphone Thief Targets Times Square, Caught Red Handed The NYPD is searching for this man for a string of headphone robberies in Times Square. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice January 29, 2024 MANHATTAN - A headphone thief targeting Times Square was caught red handed with an alleged pair of stolen headphones on surveillance video released by the NYPD. Cops believe the same man struck at least twice around Times Square. The first case happened at around 8 pm on December 22. A 26-year-old male was walking in the vicinity of 1514 Broadway when a man in a hoodie came up from behind. The thief ripped the headphones off the man’s head and ran off on West 44th Street. The next robbery took place exactly one month later. At around 8:30 pm on January 22, a 43-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 3 Times Square when a man walked up behind her.
