MANHATTAN - A teenage straphanger was mugged inside a subway car at the Rockefeller Center Subway Station and cops said cameras caught him carrying the stolen item off the train.

At around 5:30 am on February 27, a 17-year-old male was sitting on a southbound F Train. As the train approached the Rockefeller Center Station, a man approached him. Cops said without warning the man punched the teen in the stomach and ripped the backpack out of the victim’s hands.

The attacker then fled the subway car and ran out of the station.

The NYPD released the surveillance video which shows the suspect running out of the subway car holding a backpack.

The suspect is described as a male with short hair who is six feet tall and 30 years of age. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a gray knit cap.
