MANHATTAN - Cops are looking for a robbery crew of eight men men and a woman in connection with a prison-style beaten down during a robbery on a Number 6 train.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the nine suspects accused of mugging a straphanger during an early morning attack.
At around 4:30 am on March 12, a 28-year-old was riding a southbound Number 6 train near the Canal Street station. Cops said a group of nine people approached the straphanger. Without word, the crew pounced.
All nine members of the group began punching and kicking the straphanger, knocking him to the floor of the subway car. Then the attackers rumaged through the victim’s pockets removing a sum of cash and a debit card.
The attackers jumped off the train at the next stop but not before their images were captured at the subway station surveillance cameras.
The victim sustained injuries to the head as well as swelling to his face and nose. EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
