Hate Crime Attack in Union Square?

Police are searching for two males in connection with a hate crime attack near Union Square. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice August 10, 2023 NEW YORK - Police are investigating an assault as a possible hate crime attack in the Union Square area back in June.  The NYPD just released photos from surveillance video of two young suspects in the assault. News of the June attack comes after the dramatic events of last week’s riot in Union Square during a video game console giveaway gone wrong and the funeral for a gay man stabbed to death for dancing at a Brooklyn gas station.  At around 8 pm on June 28, two 23-year-old men were sitting on a bench in the vicinity of East 13 Street and Broadway, a block away from Union Square. Burglars Rip Off Hudson Yards Building of Construction Equipment

Crooks Walk Off with Pricey Fireproofing Machine  Police are searching for two men who burglarized a Hudson Yards building and walked out with a pricey piece of construction equipment. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  August 9, 2023  NEW YORK - A pair of burglars broke into a commercial building in the Hudson Yards and walked out with a pair of bikes and a bulky and expensive fire proofing machine.  At around 9:30 pm on May 21, two men using burglary tools gained access through the service entrance to a commercial building at 501 West 36 Street, in the Hudson Yards. Cops said the men removed a fire proofing machine valued at $15,000. The expensive equipment sprays fire retardant foam on structural beams.

NYPD Seeks Suspects in Assault on Cop Police are searching for two suspects in connection with an assault on an on-duty officer during the Union Square Riot. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  August 8, 2023  NEW YORK - A police officer is recovering after being assaulted with a construction barrel during the Union Square riot. Now investigators are asking for the public’s help in trying to catch the attackers.  The officer was attacked during the August 4th riot in Union Square Park. Thousands of people swarmed the park as part of a PS5 giveaway from influencer Kai Cenat. Event organizers did not have a permit and cops said the event got out of control when thousands showed up and got rowdy. Rioters damaged various property including a hot dog cart, several police cars and civilian vehicles and injuries.  As police tried to disperse the crowd, several got rowdy. Union Square Riot - More Suspects Sought, More Photos of Attacks on NYPD Cars

Police are searching for 11 people who attacked two police cars during the Union Square Riot. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  August 8, 2023  NEW YORK - The NYPD is  looking for 11 people for attacks on two police cars during Friday’s Union Square Riot.  Multiple people were photographed jumping on one squad car and shattering the windshield. In a separate attack on a different car, one person was caught on camera shattering the glass by throwing a traffic cone on the windshield.  The first unmarked police cruiser was damaged at around 2 pm on August 4. The car was parked in front of 850 Broadway, a movie theater a block away from Union Square where thousands gathered for a PS5 giveaway from influencer Kai Cenat.  Cops said three males, ages 15 to 18 took turns jumping and stomping atop the NYPD vehicle eventually shattering the windshield. CAUGHT ON VIDEO - Suspects Trash NYPD Car During Kai Cenat PS5 Giveaway Police are searching for eight people in connection with the trashing of a police vehicle during the Union Square Riot. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice August 7, 2023 NEW YORK - Police are searching for the people who danced and stomped on top of cars and kicked in vehicles during the Union Square riot on Friday that took place when an influencer promised to hand out free PS5 video game consoles. Among the vehicles trashed was a cop car, officials said.  Police released photos from the scores of video taken during Friday’s wild scene in which some 2,000 people swarmed Union Square in the hope of getting a free PS5 during a giveaway set up by influencer Kai Cenat. Bike Riding Purse Snatcher Attacks 2 Women

Police are searching for this man in connection with a series of purse snatchings by a man on a bike. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice August 4, 2023 MANHATTAN - Cops are searching for a bike riding purse snatcher who has wounded two women in robberies. The latest attack occurred in Murray Hill.  At around 2:45 pm on July 25, a 39-year-old was walking in the vicinity of 1st Avenue and East 40th Street. A man on a bicycle rode up alongside her and grabbed onto her purse.  As the thief pulled the bag the woman was thrown to the ground. With the purse in hand the thief rode off northbound on 1st Avenue. Cops said the same suspect is responsible for an earlier attack near Stuyvesant Square. At around 1:45 pm on July 15, a 42-year-old woman was walking near 231 2nd Avenue. A man on a bicycle rode up to the woman, grabbed her purse and threw her to the ground. The suspect rode off northbound on 2nd Avenue.  Police released a series of photos from various surveillance videos.
