MANHATTAN - Cops now have a name to go with the face of their main suspect in the violent assault on actor Steve Buscemi in Kips Bay.
The NYPD has identified their main suspect as 50-year-old Clifton Williams. Investigators did not detail if Williams has prior arrests.
Last week, the NYPD issued a report looking for the suspect in a random attack in Kips Bay. However, this week published reports confirm that the victim was the “Fargo” star.
At around 11:48 am on May 8, Buscemi, 66, was in front of 369 3rd Avenue in Kips Bay. Cops said a man dressed in a blue shirt and baseball cap walked up to him and, without warning, punched him in the face.
The attacker just walked off.
EMS transported Buscemi to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for bleeding to his left eye as well as bruising and swelling.
