Man Gunned Down at Housing Project in the Heights The NYPD is searching for Gekron Williams in connection with a fatal shooting at the Polo Grounds. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice April 17, 2024 MANHATTAN - Cops have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan. Police are looking for 24-year-old Gekron Williams in connection with last month’s murder at a housing project in Washington Heights. At around 10:30 pm on March 3, Kenneth Taveras was standing in the rear of a building at 2971 8th Avenue in the Polo Grounds. Cops said a man walked up to him and opened fire. Taveras was struck multiple in the chest. The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.
