Cops ID Polo Grounds Shooter
Man Gunned Down at Housing Project in the Heights The NYPD is searching for Gekron Williams in connection with a fatal shooting at the Polo Grounds. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Manhattan Voice April 17, 2024 MANHATTAN - Cops have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan. Police are looking for 24-year-old Gekron Williams in connection with last month’s murder at a housing project in Washington Heights. At around 10:30 pm on March 3, Kenneth Taveras was standing in the rear of a building at 2971 8th Avenue in the Polo Grounds. Cops said a man walked up to him and opened fire. Taveras was struck multiple in the chest. The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later. The NYPD announced that an investigation has led cops to identify Williams as the main suspect and released the suspect’s photo. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD'
