MANHATTAN - You can’t even trust the elderly in this city. Cops are looking for an elderly couple who mugged a woman in Times Square taking her cash and her wedding ring. 



At around 2:15 pm on April 23, a 49-year-old woman was approached by an elderly couple in the vicinity of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue near the Port Authority. Cops said the couple talked to the woman and “coerced” her into taking money out of the ATM. 



According to investigators, the couple then literally strong armed the victim. They grabbed the woman by the arm and “caused her to fear for her safety.” They walked with the woman to a nearby store and forced her to make 3 purchases for them. Then the couple took the victim’s wedding ring and ran off. 



The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a medium build who is 5 foot 6. He was last seen wearing a light-colored jacket, black baseball cap, and black sneakers. 



The second suspect is a Hispanic female with a medium build who is 5 feet tall. She was last seen wearing a dark jacket, black pants, brown Ugg Style boots, eyeglasses and a facemask.

Hate Crime Attackers Arrested - Cops Said

The victim suffered a broken jaw in the attack. Police arrested three teenage males ages 13, 14 and 16. Each was charged with gang assault, criminal possession of a weapon and hate crime - assault. Police did not release the names of the three suspects because they were all minors. At around 10:15 pm on September 15, a 72-year-old man was walking in the Flatiron District. In front of West 17 Street and 9th Avenue he was approached by three teenage males. The teens began making anti-LGBTQ remarks and then assaulted the senior, cops said. 96-Year-Old Female Knocked to Ground by Scooter Riding Chain Snatcher

Scooter Riding Robber Drags Elderly Woman to Ground The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a chain snatching that sent any elderly woman to the hospital. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Manhattan Voice  June 11, 2024  NEW YORK -  A 96-year-old woman was sent to the hospital by a scooter riding chain snatcher, cops said.  Police are searching for a chain snatcher who knocked an elderly woman to the ground. At around 5:30 pm on May 24, a 96-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of West 127th Street and 8th Avenue. A man on a black moped rode up, grabbed the woman’s necklace and dragged the elderly victim causing her to fall. The robber rode off. The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect seen riding the scooter.
