At around 1:15 am on March 20, a 19-year-old male was on the northbound platform of the D Train at the 59 Street-Columbus circle subway station. As he waited for a train, a group of 13 males and at least two females approached him and engaged him in conversation. Cops said the group then began beating on the straphanger. Multiple members of the group began punching and kicking the victim. The attackers then yanked the coat off the victim, pulled his sneakers off his feet and removed his cellphone.
